Trajan's Column Endures
Trajan's Column was erected in Rome in the year 113 A.D. to honour the emperor Trajan and to commemorate his two victorious campaigns against the Dacians. The letters inscribed in stone on Trajan's Column are model Roman letters. Trajan's Column still stands today and its lettering endures too, as the basis of the capital letters in most fonts. The Romans did not begin to use lowercase letters until after 200 A.D.

Rubicon Font Popularity Remains Constant
The relative popularity of Rubicon fonts is unchanged over the past year. Our customers are primarily looking for Realist or Humanist sans-serif fonts, in normal or condensed widths. The only serif font to make it into the top eight is the book font SGaramond. Our bestselling font sets are described below, in order of popularity. We have omitted certain older font sets that are popular but need to be updated.

1. Hilbert Neue. Realist sans serif typeface with a neutral feel. Like Helvetica Neue. An unobtrusive typeface that seems to be everywhere.

2. Opulent. Humanist sans serif typeface with a calligraphic feel. Like Optima. A warm elegant typeface whose curves are soothing to the eye.

3. Frobisher. Humanist sans serif typeface with an informal feel. Like Frutiger. A clean typeface that’s legible from various angles, sizes, and distances.

4. Hilbert Neue Condensed. Condensed realist sans serif font with a neutral feel. Like Helvetica Neue Condensed. An unobtrusive typeface that seems to be everywhere.

5. SGaramond. A serif book font with an engraved look. Like Stempel Garamond. A svelte typeface that faithfully emulates the letterforms of the French Renaissance.

6. Frobisher Condensed. Condensed humanist sans serif font with an informal feel. Like Frutiger Condensed. A clean typeface that’s legible from various angles, sizes, and distances.

7. Uranus. Realist sans serif font with an organic feel. Like Univers. A clear typeface that's legible from great distances or close up.
